Roy “Trae” Wisecarver
Statement of Research:
I am an American Civil War historian interested in the role of the Union Army in accomplishing emancipation and establishing freedman policy, as well as the United States government’s shift in policy from conciliatory to “hard” war, and the reestablishment of government authority in the rebel states. I am particularly interested in the war in the Trans-Mississippi. My dissertation research centers on the collapse of the Confederacy in Arkansas.
