Statement of Research:
Allison Faber is a third year doctoral student working with Dr. Carlos Blanton and specializes in Texas history and women and gender studies. Her research looks at how state institutions and programs intersect with the racialization of motherhood and mothering in Texas. Allison is interested in how concepts of illegitimacy, health, and child protection targeted marginalized women in Texas throughout the twentieth century. Allison is also pursuing opportunities in academic publishing, with a specific interest in acquisitions.
