Statement of Research:
My research examines the issue of conservation within the history of US-Central American relations. I am particularly interested in how environmentalists, governmental officials, activists, and scientists, from around the world, worked to promote sustainable development and limit the negative consequences of soil erosion, deforestation, and other environmental crises. I tie these conservation efforts into the broader and global histories of the Cold War and decolonization during the twentieth century. Additionally, I am interested in the history of sport, modern American political history, and Latin American environmental history.
