The Department of History at Texas A&M University offers the B.A., M.A., and Ph.D. The faculty teach over one hundred undergraduate courses on peoples, ideas, and cultures from around the world and across the ages, and are devoted to developing students' critical thinking, reading, and writing skills. Maintaining our commitment to traditional regional and chronological fields of study, we have also reconfigured the structure of the department into twelve thematic clusters that better express our strengths, breadth of coverage, and diversity of interests and more effectively serve our graduate students and undergraduates. The faculty publish widely and have received numerous awards and prizes for research and teaching. The Department of History is located in the Melbern G. Glasscock Building, directly across from the Sterling Evans Library. The main office is in Suite 101. David Vaught serves as Department Head.
